Abstract
This research paper is part of an extensive study conducted by the researcher entitled: Guarantees of the Rights of Senior Citizens from the Perspective of Islamic Sharia and UAE Law. The discussion focused on the rights of the elderly population in Islamic law, which is derived from the Holy Qur’an and the Sunnah. The problem lies in the physiological and psychological changes that occur in the elderly, in the context of the laws of God in his creation. Thus, it means a return to the lowest age, which requires special attention to be framed in a legal framework for the elderly, and work to perpetuate his normal position in society. Through the inductive approach and the approach of inferential analysis, the study concluded a number of results, foremost among which are: The rights of the elderly in Sharia; The right to dignity and respect, equality and non-discrimination against the elderly, his right to family care, his right to health care, and the right of the elderly to work as long as he is able to. The Prophet equated the complacency of the two great parents with jihad for the God. Islam has taken into account the right of the elderly person in worship, the sick elderly person was allowed not to attend the congregational prayer, and for someone else to perform Hajj instead.
